Race Week

This Saturday I’ll race in the Cycosports, Batam Six Bridges. A gruelling 125km with 1870m of ascents on the stunning Batam Island. Just a short ferry ride from Singapore. It will be a longer day for the field, starting with a 5:15am checkin for the ferry, and returning around 7pm that evening.

Luckily we are all in good hands. Cycosports has a reputation of running awesome events. So VISA, food and support are all provided for what is likely to be a hot day in the sun.

My prep hasn’t been ideal. Although my power gains are looking strong, my fuel efficiency is showing signs of a laboured body. Pushing me into anaerobic at low intensity. I feel strong, just need to ensure I ride within myself. So no attacking.

How many of you have raced in Asia before? What are your thoughts or experiences been?
